Meet Hopkinton!
Meet the members of the Hopkinton Branch of Henna for Humanity!
Aditi Khiste
Hello, my name is Aditi Khiste and I’m a sophomore this year. I was born in India, and have loved Indian culture and its traditions throughout my life, whether food, festivals, or other aspects. I have been into mandala art for a very long time, eventually sparking my interest in henna, which I realized not only connects the South Asian community, but also intrigues people from other cultures.
Over the years, I have practiced and improved my skills by applying henna to friends and family, and joining Henna for Humanity gives me the opportunity to take it even further.
I am so glad to be contributing to Henna for Humanity by starting the Hopkinton Branch. While expanding my knowledge and skills on henna, I can interact with new people, increase the popularity of this art form, and also raise money and awareness for an organization working towards an important cause in India.
Maanya Shettigar
Hi! I’m Maanya Shettigar, and I’m a freshman this year. The activities I participate in, like dance and drawing, are examples of how I love to connect with people around me through my passions, whether they relate to my Indian roots or celebrate other cultures. Henna for Humanity gives me another opportunity to do this by allowing me to meet many people and enhancing my art skills.
Over the past eight years, I have practiced my art skills and have watched my mother and friends apply henna on my hands, and joining Henna for Humanity gives me the chance to try it myself.
Being a part of Henna for Humanity Hopkinton is so exciting for me. Through my involvement in the branch, I can introduce myself to another art form, engage with a variety of people, and contribute to a cause which is dedicated to helping the underprivileged in India.
